Summary
The Insurance Operations Officer actively ensures the efficient management and oversight of daily operational processes across domestic and international life insurance markets. In this role, the Officer implements organizational strategies, optimizes administrative workflows, maintains regulatory compliance, and supports the seamless execution of underwriting, policy administration, claims, and reinsurance functions.
Moreover, the ideal candidate combines deep operational expertise with strong leadership capabilities and demonstrated experience coordinating across cross-border environments.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Directly oversee day-to-day operations related to policy issuance, administration, claims processing, and premium collection; consequently ensure accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance.
- Additionally, develop, document, and implement operational procedures and best practices that align with company policy and recognized international standards.
- Furthermore, collaborate with domestic and international business units to streamline cross-border processes, manage service providers, and promote consistency in policy servicing.
- In parallel, coordinate with Compliance and Legal teams to maintain adherence to U.S. state, federal, and applicable foreign regulatory requirements.
- Likewise, partner with IT and Data Analytics teams to improve operational efficiency by advancing technology solutions, workflow automation, and system integrations.
- Importantly, support enterprise risk management efforts by identifying operational risks, recommending control enhancements, and participating in internal and external audit reviews.
- In addition, prepare and present operational reports, performance metrics, and workflow analyses to executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
- Simultaneously, lead and mentor operational staff by fostering accountability, professionalism, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Moreover, collaborate with Finance, Reinsurance, and Marketing teams to coordinate product launches, strengthen reporting processes, and maintain data integrity.
- Finally, manage relationships with international brokers, third-party administrators, and reinsurers to ensure service quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related discipline; moreover, an advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in life insurance operations or administration.
- Strong knowledge of life insurance products, policy administration systems, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven leadership, project management, and team development capabilities.
- Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives, workflow automation, and cross-border regulatory considerations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; additionally, experience with policy administration platforms and reinsurance systems is preferred.
