Summary
Reporting directly to the EVP & COO, the VP/SVP, Health Insurance Operations job assumes full accountability for all operational functions within the Health Insurance Division. This executive role oversees four primary areas: project management, logistical support, third-party administrator (TPA) oversight, and division innovation. The ideal candidate will lead with strategic insight, technological aptitude, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Essential Duties of Health Insurance Division
The VP/SVP, Health Insurance Operations will lead and manage the following critical responsibilities:
Project Management Leadership
Spearhead the operations project management function to ensure successful execution of key corporate initiatives.
Design clear project goals and define critical success markers to align team efforts.
Establish and track performance metrics to measure progress and outcomes.
Participate actively in completing operational tasks and deliverables.
Motivate team members and hold them accountable for assigned responsibilities.
Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Third-Party Administrator Oversight
Supervise TPAs performing duties across various lines of business.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with established service level agreements.
Prioritize workflow and provide continuous support to TPAs to uphold service standards.
Evaluate performance and take corrective measures to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Strategic Operational Improvements
Continuously assess the administration of products and services to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency and satisfaction.
Clearly communicate departmental objectives and explain how they align with company-wide goals and mission.
Recommend and implement cost-saving procedures and operational enhancements.
Analyze operating results against set objectives and take proactive steps to resolve any underperformance.
Representation and Compliance
Serve as the company's representative with major customers, vendors, regulators, and external organizations.
Support business acquisition efforts, including operational project planning and seamless execution.
Maintain active involvement with insurance industry peers and regularly attend relevant industry events.
Coordinate division responses during market conduct exams, audits, or investigations at the request of the SVP of Compliance.
Ensure all operational activities fully comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Confidentiality
Regularly handle confidential data with the highest level of integrity and discretion.
Education & Training Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Completion of insurance industry training programs (e.g., LOMA) strongly preferred.

Ability to analyze problems and implement technology-based solutions.
