Duties of Health Actuary, Supplemental Products Job
Most noteworthy, this person’s job will be to watch over our client’s health line of business. For example:
- First, are we making money?
- Also, spotting early trends
- Most noteworthy, reporting up to management
- Furthermore, calculating reserves and doing some state reports as necessary.
Our client has a very robust data warehouse that makes the job easy…and the person will have access to 3 student actuaries who are very bright and are wanting to learn more. Furthermore, our client uses an actuarial consulting firm to do all of the pricing, rate increases, and filing with the states. So, the role of this Health Actuary, Supplemental Products will be to manage and review the work of the consulting actuaries. The position reports to the Chief Actuary. The actuary will have an office (… with walls and a door). The client has 8 people in the department, including the three students.
Requirements to be Health Actuary, Supplemental Products
- Prefer a near ASA or near FSA.
- Also, our ideal candidate will know how to program in “R” and SQL.
Salary and Relocation
Most noteworthy, our client will pay market salary, help pay for relocation, and expect the person to work at the home office in Dallas, Texas (not remote).
