Responsibilities:
- Transition to CRO Role:
- Most noteworthy, begin with a six-month training period.
- Ascend to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) position after completing this training.
- Product Development/Pricing:
- Focus predominantly on life, health, and annuity products.
- Oversee the product development and pricing of these simple products.
- Concentrate on life products that cater to the Final Expense and Home Service markets.
- Also, only deal with Whole Life products that come with standard riders.
- Client does not sell UL, SGUL, and variable products.
- Furthermore, undertake the pricing of a term portfolio targeting the Middle Market, ranging from $50k to $300k face.
- Annuity Products:
- Handle products like MYGAs and uncomplicated FIAs.
- Most noteworthy, client does not sell variable products and those with GMDBs or GMWBs.
- Reinsurance:
- Some of our Client’s products undergo reinsurance.
- Health Products:
- Also, lead initiatives around Medicare Supplement and other Supplemental Health products. Includes Cancer, Heart/Stroke, Accident, and Hospital Indemnity.
- Understand that 80% of Medicare Supplement is ceded.
- Management Reporting:
- Regularly present experience reports showcasing Actual vs Expected outcomes.
- Closely monitor product sales and profitability to ensure the company’s growth and stability.
- Audits:
- Furthermore, oversee audits of TPAs. Including premiums, commissions, reserve factors, nonforfeiture factors, and vendor bills.
- ALM:
- Also, engage in ALM by providing reports on both asset and liability cash flows.
- Capital Modeling: Engage in RBC, BCAR, and ALIRT capital modeling tasks to ensure financial robustness.
Skills and Experience:
- Qualifications:
- FSA designation preferred.
- MAAA designation is a plus.
- Ideally, candidates should possess or plan to attain a CERA.
- Skills:
- Above all, deep expertise in product development and pricing.
- Strong leadership and management abilities.
- Also, have proficient communication skills with actuaries at a technical level.
- Finally, demonstrated capability to collaborate with Marketing and Operations teams for strategic company-wide initiatives.
