Education Requirements:  Bachelor’s or above degree in business from accredited university.
Other Requirements:  Include:

  • 3+ years senior-level operations management experience in a Life insurance company.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing digital processes for insurance company operations, including policy administration systems, imaging systems, productivity metrics, cloud-based applications, etc.
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office products/familiarity with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Extensive knowledge of Life insurance company accounting, financial and marketing practices.

Salary Range:  Negotiable on overall compensation package, DOE. Targeting $130k to $150k salary.
Description:  Our Client is a privately-held life insurer.  For twenty years it has specialized in marketing life insurance products funding preneed funeral contracts.  Our Client’s success has stemmed from an emphasis on personal service to its policyholders.  Our Client’s mission is to grow by utilizing technology to respond to the changing preferences of potential customers which are inevitable given evolving U.S. demographics and a foreseeable shift in consumer attitudes about death care.  Over the past two years, our Client has embarked upon a comprehensive shift in strategy based upon (1) moving from manual to digital operations, (2) digital marketing/new business contracting, and (3) expansion to nearby states.  Our Client’s ultimate goal is using digital processes to market directly to consumers, especially in new geographical markets.  Our Client has made considerable progress in these areas and the next few years of development should be both challenging and rewarding.  Our Client also provides Third-Party-Administration services to a small number of insurers.  This area of services provides revenue diversification, has been growing rapidly.  Our Client is actively digitizing their processes to improve value proposition in the TPA space.  The Life Chief Operating Officer will oversee the company’s operations and related procedures.  Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing and managing business operations.
  • Establishing policies that promote the company’s mission and culture.
  • Working with the virtual CIO/IT consultant firm to develop, implement and manage digital processes and data analysis designed to increase workplace productivity.
  • Managing company operations personnel.
  • Working with the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, CMO and CFO (Executive Committee) to meet company strategic goals.
  • Budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Interfacing with regulators, auditors, clients and business partners.
  • Facilities, equipment and supply management.
  • Day-to-day operations management.
  • Policyholder Relationship Management.
  • Productivity analysis and optimization.
  • Operations project management.
  • Policy administration systems management.
  • Complaints management.
  • Human Resources department oversight.
  • TPA services (operations) management.
  • Vendor management.
